Great Barrington homeowners often assume ‘licensed & insured’ means the same thing for every dryer vent cleaning company. It doesn’t. Here’s what to check, and why David Brothers Dryer Vent Cleaning LLC goes beyond the basics to keep your home safe. Book a free estimate here to see the difference.
What ‘Licensed’ Actually Means in Great Barrington
In Massachusetts, dryer vent cleaning isn’t a licensed trade like plumbing or electrical work. That means anyone can call themselves a ‘dryer vent cleaner’, even if they’ve never handled a lint fire risk or inspected a Great Barrington home’s unique ductwork. What separates the pros? Three things: certification from a recognized organization (like the National Fire Protection Association), proof of liability insurance (not just a generic policy), and local experience with older homes, many in Great Barrington have uninsulated attics or exterior vents that complicate cleaning. David Brothers Dryer Vent Cleaning LLC holds all three. Learn more about our team and the areas we serve, including Great Barrington and nearby towns like Lenox.
Why Insurance Matters More Than You Think
A ‘licensed’ cleaner might show up with a vacuum and call it a day, but if they damage your dryer, vent, or even start a fire during cleaning, their basic policy might not cover it. That’s why we carry commercial general liability insurance that protects your home, not just our tools. Ask any Great Barrington dryer vent service for their Certificate of Insurance before booking. We’re happy to share ours. See our full service list to understand what’s included in a professional cleaning, and why a DIY job could void your homeowners’ policy.
